2. What we collect

You provide: your email address and account details, your style quiz answers, your stated budget and occasion, and optionally your body measurements and photographs you upload for style analysis.

Collected automatically: device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed, and interactions with our recommendations, including clicks through to retailer sites.

We do not collect or store payment card details. We do not process payments.

3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis

To create your styling recommendations. Basis: performance of our contract with you.
To operate, secure and improve the Service, including improving our recommendation models. Basis: our legitimate interest.
To measure referral traffic and attribute purchases made through our links, which is how the Service is funded. Basis: our legitimate interest. You can opt out of these cookies at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer.
To send you service and marketing emails. Basis: consent, withdrawable at any time via the unsubscribe link.

Photographs and body measurements are used solely to generate your styling recommendations. Where this data is treated as sensitive under applicable law, we process it on the basis of your consent, given when you choose to upload it, which you may withdraw at any time by deleting the data from your account or contacting us.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We share data with service providers who operate the Service on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose: hosting and infrastructure, security and abuse prevention, database and authentication, product analytics, email and messaging, and AI model providers used to generate recommendations. Some of these providers are located outside your country, including in the United States. Transfers are made under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

We also share limited data with advertising platforms, currently Meta and TikTok, so that we can measure what our ads and social posts lead to and reach people likely to find the Service useful. This happens through cookies and similar technologies on the Service, and you can turn it off at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer. We do not send these platforms your name, your photographs, your body measurements, or your quiz answers.

When you click through to a retailer, the affiliate network or retailer may set a cookie to attribute the referral. This is described in our Cookie Policy. Any data you then provide to the retailer is governed by that retailer's own privacy policy.

5. Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active and for 24 months after your last activity, unless you delete it sooner. Uploaded photographs are deleted when you delete them or when your account is deleted. Aggregated and de identified analytics data may be retained without a fixed limit.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and may opt out of any sharing that qualifies as a sale under the CCPA. We do not sell personal information.

To exercise any right, use your account settings or write to info@buythelook.app. We respond within the period required by applicable law. EU and UK residents also have the right to complain to their local supervisory authority.

7. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encryption in transit, access controls and separation of environments. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We will update the date above when this policy changes, and will notify you of material changes.
